A to Z Challenge: ‘I’ is for Carmine Infantino

The great comic book artist and editor Carmine Infantino died April 4 at age 87. His style is credited with reviving the Flash in the middle 1950s and Batman in the early 1960s. Batman spent much of the 1950s in space adventures. Infantino brought him back to earth and rendered the character in a more realistic, urbane style. Though he was widely known for his work as DC Comics, where he served as publisher in the early 1970s, Infantino was the original artist on the Marvel Comics adaptation of “Star Wars” and worked on “Spider-Woman,” “Nova” and other titles for Marvel.
