Moderately Interesting Morning Fact Sept. 10, 2012: Rin Tin Tin Edition
Discovered this day in 1918 a bombed out animal shelter in Lorraine during World War I was the puppy who went on to become Rin Tin Tin, German shepherd dog. The dog went on to star to star in 23 Hollywood films, gaining worldwide fame. The name was subsequently given to several related dogs featured in fictional stories on film, radio, and television.
