Today’s reason to live: Axe Cop gets animated

Via Screen Rant:

Fox TV has announced plans to use the Web comic Axe Cop as a means of introducing its new late-night animation block intended to compete with Cartoon Network‘s [adult swim].

The series tells the tale of a cop who wields a firefighter’s axe as a weapon and frequently issues threats to chop heads off with it. The series includes a flute as the cop’s partner, a gun-toting Tyrannosaurus Rex and a magical baby with a unicorn horn.

Malachai Nicolle, who created the series with his 29-year-old brother Ethan in 2010 (when Malachai was just five), writes, outlines and acts out Axe Cop while Ethan serves as the series’ primary artist.

About Daniel P. Finney

A misanthrope, iconoclast and general grouch since the late 1980s, Daniel P. Finney has been a professional paragraph stacker since 1993. He reports. He writes. He blogs. He tweets. He beats deadlines. He amuses (himself, at least.) He informs. He adapts. He keeps moving forward. He eschews gatherings. The highlights of his week are Sunday chicken wings, new comics Wednesday and naps during televised sporting events. He does not wonder if there is a player to be named later in his life and spends most of his waking hours desperately trying to be left alone.
