Today’s truly terrible idea: NBC’s remake of the Munsters

The middle 1960s brought us two “monster family” TV shows, “The Munsters” and “The Addams Family.” The later was superior. The former used cast members from “Car 54, Where Are You?” Note the description offered by NBC-TV to Entertainment Weekly: “We want this to be an American Harry Potter.” We had that. It was called “Star Wars.”
